Our patients tell us that their number 1 concern about dermal fillers is looking un-natural. We strongly agree and reassure them that our patients do not look 'done'. They look well rested, natural and beautiful.

On the other hand, out and about- we see a lot of over-filled faces with pointy, over-inflated cheeks and chins, huge lips etc. This seems to be the norm for some people. I call it normalisation of deviance.

A thorough knowledge of facial anatomy is essential. Our face has distinct fat compartments and judicious placement of fillers here can provide very nice results. Hard to treat areas such as temples, tear-troughs and facial volumisation on the bone requires a thorough knowledge and experience-this is not for someone who dabbles in these treatments. Just see the rise in number of filler dissolving treatments. Tear trough and nose fllers are high skill areas and can be associated with serious problems-even blindness, yet lots of novices seem to be happy to do these treatments.
